THE TREATMENT
Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints and their effects on the nervous system.

Our nervous system controls every part of our body, through the nerves which branch off our spinal cord from between each spinal joint.

Incorrect function in the spine can cause irritation of the nerves and muscles that control our posture and movement.

Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of the spine and limbs where signs of restriction in movement are found, improving mobility and relieving pain.

This treatment is known as "adjustment" or "manipulation" and sometimes can be aided by taking X-rays, using heat or ice, electro-therapy such as ultrasound and interferential, massage or acupuncture needles (optional).

Structural problems in the feet can cause pain throughout the body including feet, legs, knees, hips, back and even your neck. A computerised gait scanner is available at the clinic that can detect poor foot function and alignment. This can be corrected by prescription orthotics (corrective devices worn in your shoes) .

Patients may be given specific exercises to help maintain and improve their condition, and advice on posture and movement to prevent relapses.

If your chiropractor identifies an underlying condition for which other treatment is appropriate, you will be referred to your GP or another specialist without delay.

ORTHOTICS

ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR ORTHOTICS?

(Devices worn in your shoes that provide correction and assistance to your feet)
Structural problems in your feet can alter your walking pattern and cause pain throughout your body, including feet, legs, knees, hips, back and even your neck.

Your Chiropractor has a computerised pressure plate called a "GaitScan" to analyse the way you walk (gait) and detect unusual foot function which may be affecting the rest of your body.

The GaitScan has thousands of tiny sensors that capture the distribution of pressure throughout the sole of your foot and displays 2-D and 3-D images on the computer together with an analysis report.

GaitScan enables the Chiropractor to prescribe and order orthotics unique to the patient's needs.

Prescription orthotics are medical appliances that fit comfortably into your shoes and help restore the normal balance and alignment of your body bringing relief from fatigue and pain.
